Unconventional Still Life

Drama, Depth, and Detail: Saturday Workshop Series
Bronwyn McIvor
Saturdays May 2 - 16
1pm - 4pm
$155 (3 weeks)

Discover the beauty, colour, and luscious detail to be found in the everyday scenes of your kitchen.

This class invites students to take an unusual angle on the classical subject of still life by focusing more on the detritus of food preparation rather than the prized objects showcased in classical still lifes. Bronwyn will lead students through her process – working from photo references and establishing composition by blocking in the big shapes, then building up depth and detail over subsequent weeks.  Students will use sumptuous colours, intensify contrasts, and pick out luminous details in this overlooked, everyday debris.

Bronwyn will be using her favourite medium, oils, to teach this class:  students can work in traditional or water-based oils, or acrylics if they prefer.

Price Per Person: $155
