Composition for plein air
Scott Pleydell-Pearce
June 7 - 28
July 5 - 26
Sundays, 10am - 1pm
$165 (4 weeks)

Join acclaimed plein air painter Scott Pleydell-Pearce and enjoy making art outdoors this summer.

In these sessions, Scott will guide students through  unique the process of working en plein air — from materials and setup to capturing fleeting moments, understanding the influence of light, and learning how to simplify complex scenes.

The focus of this series of classes will be on composition, developing thumbnail sketches, value studies, and creating strong, dynamic painting designs. As the sessions progress and the classes transition into painting, students are welcome to work in the medium of their choice; however, Scott will be demonstrating primarily in watercolour.

The class begins with an emphasis on drawing as the essential foundation for plein air work, and will also explore how to develop these studies into finished paintings.
