Unlock the foundations of drawing with Phoenix Art Workshop Founder Mark Glavina, whose 30 years of teaching have shaped a clear, thoughtful method for learning how to see like an artist and draw with confidence.

Designed especially for beginners—and for anyone looking to strengthen their core skills—these 4-week classes form a progressive series that can be taken for 8, 12, or 16 weeks. Each session offers new lessons and projects, allowing students to continue developing without repetition throughout the year.

In this structured, supportive program, you’ll explore the essential elements of drawing: form, line, shape, volume, proportion, perspective, and composition. You’ll start by working from simple objects and still-life arrangements, gradually building the skills needed to approach more complex subjects from both observation and imagination.

Through step-by-step demonstrations and practical guidance, Mark helps students slow down, truly see what’s in front of them, and understand how artists think. Over time, you’ll develop stronger visual awareness, more fluid technique, and a deeper connection to your own creative process.

This series is designed to give beginners a solid, honest foundation—without shortcuts or gimmicks—and to offer returning students a meaningful path for continued growth.
