A Valentine-Month Floral Painting Weekend Workshop
Marney-Rose Edge
February 28 & March 1
Saturday & Sunday, 9:30am - 4:30pm
$295

Celebrate Valentine’s month at Phoenix Art Workshop with renowned artist Marney-Rose Edge, and immerse yourself in the luminous world of painting flowers in oils combined with cold wax. This unique medium brings a rich, tactile quality to your work—ideal for capturing the translucency and vibrancy of petals with the subtle glow of natural light.

Over this weekend workshop, Marney-Rose will guide students through the essentials of working with oil and cold wax: creating layered surfaces, building texture, mixing radiant color, and designing compositions that let your floral subjects shine. You’ll explore expressive mark making using palette knives and silicone tools, an easy colour mixing guide, and simple, effective lighting strategies that add depth and atmosphere to your paintings.

Whether you’re new to oils or an experienced painter looking to expand your creative toolkit, this workshop offers a warm, supportive environment to explore, experiment, and deepen your understanding of this beautiful medium. You’ll leave with fresh techniques, renewed inspiration, and a finished floral piece that reflects your personal style.
