Inés Beatriz is an artist and illustrator working mainly in watercolour, ink and acrylics. She studied at UBC and completed her BA with a major in Art History and a minor in Theatre Costume/Set design. Her work is often inspired by the diversity of nature, stories and paintings of the past. While the subject matter of her work is varied, many of her pieces can be characterized by vivid colours or a close attention to detail.
When she’s not teaching or working on animal portrait commissions, she creates artisan watercolour paints using traditional methods. This process of paint making aligns with her formal education and interest in art history and supports her ongoing research of natural pigments and binders in artist materials.
