Join Mark Glavina and artsy friends live from the Phoenix Art Studio for these serries of classes demistifyiing Modern Art, focused on expanding students understanding of the eveloution of painting in the modern age.  This course is designed to be a fun art appreciation class,  so pour yourself a glass of wine, as I share insight and the works of Monet, Matisse, Kandinsky and other Modern Masters.   Each class will have a new challenge based on the session’s presentation, giving students at home an opportunity to be simply be inspired by our in-studio activity or paint along with us from home with your own group of artist friends.

October 1 – Impressionism/ Post Impressionism
Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going?  painting by French artist Paul Gauguin is our inspiration for this session. 

November 5 – Expressionism / Abstract Expresionism   “I begin with movement … I believe all human visual experiences are born from movement.”   Ernst Ludwig Kirchner’s quote is our inspiration for this session as we look at European expressionism and America’s Abstract Expressionist movements.

December 3 –  Post Modern  “Be yourself – everyone else is taken”  Oscar Wilde is our theme as we explore our own post modern reality.
