Under the guidance of professional sculptor Nick Voltchok, each student will sculpt their own anatomical model, starting with the skeleton and building on the different muscle groups. The course covers proportions of the human skeleton and gives a comprehensive look at all the muscles and how they influence the surface of the human body. This course develops skills in three dimensional modeling and provides an effective basis for learning and memorizing the human anatomy because it incorporates visual and manual memory.
Artists leave the course with knowledge that will immediately improve their work and provide a solid foundation in artistic anatomy. All levels of painters, sculptors, and artists are welcome to join us. Students will be provided with plasticine but will require stands ($35) and basic pottery/sculpting tools.
